Yes, guys - we know that you think that we think that every day is Mother's Day.
We also know you think that it's like a fun girls' day out
when we have to go grocery shopping.
No. No. No. Not fun at all.

If you want to get her something great for Mother's Day,
come to the shop & I'll help you out.
Seriously.

This is what we're gonna do, so don't tell anyone.

Let me know what kind of cupcakes she likes
(if she's a friend of mine then I already know).
Bring cash in large bills - $100's to be exact.
($300 is a good number that she'll really appreciate)
I'll make her a box of beautiful, delicious cupcakes
& attach the cash with a little note from you that says 'Happy Mother's Day'.
We can also do this with Jewelry ;)
& I'll deliver it for you.
She's going to love it.
& She might even be nice to you for a little while ;)

Do not wait until Friday because I'm already very full.
Do it in the middle of the week.
That way she can plan out her weekend. With her cash.

Pumpkin/SweetPotato/Yam Cinnamon-Spice Cupcakes

Oh, Sweet-Baby Pumpkin - I left you out before.
I am so so sorry for that.
A true mistake.
I was just so overwhelmed with all the other kids that I overlooked you.
It's 'cause you're such a good kid who never causes any trouble.

Sometimes, if I don't have any Pumpkin, I put in Sweet Potatoes or Yams.
I know ~ sounds very ungood. But not so much.
Stephanie liked them.
They were Kyler's first & most favoritist vegetable. Or fruit.?

Anyway, they're very good & very requested.
The cake is just so soft.
So very soft.
I usually put the Vanilla Cinnamon-Honey Buttercream on them, but I also have this Super Cinnamon Buttercream that Jason likes.
Jason really does like the Cinnamon stuff.
He doesn't even care what they look like.
As long as it's got big cinnamon buttercream on it.

Well, I hope I haven't forgotten anything else, but I'm quite sure that I have.
I just didn't mean to hurt little pumpkin-baby's feelings.
I'm sorry & I love you ;)

My Favorite Cupcake

Well, to tell you the truth, I have several.

The Lemon Buttercream is outstanding. It just is.
I don't describe it as having the 'essence' of lemon.
It's salty, strong, pucker-up lemon force that will knock your socks off.
It goes on top of a plain vanilla white cupcake, & it is so good.
So very good that on some days it absolutely is my favorite.

My original favorite -
the Banana Cake with Wild Strawberry Buttercream.
Inspired from my favorite summertime treat - A Strawberry/Banana Shaved Ice.
Love it ;)
The Banana Cupcake is so so so good. So soft that it melts in your mouth.
& guess what?
It tastes like Banana. There's no guessing the flavor of this one - it's full-on Banana.
The Wild Strawberry Buttercream is absolutely my 'most favorite' icing.
But only when I make it.
It's not like anyone else's strawberry icing (I won't put theirs in caps because they don't deserve it).
I'm not being arrogant, just honest.
It's made with real strawberries. & salt.
My mouth is watering right now.
Anyway, the soft sweet banana cake paired with the salty strawberry buttercream is just incredible.
Absolutely my favorite. On most days.

Oh, but wait ... - just made the
Peanut Butter Cake with Chocolate Fudge Buttercream.
The smell alone will make you feel like a little kid back in your momma's kitchen.
My momma makes those peanut butter kiss cookies - I just love them so much.
Well, that's what this cupcake tastes like.
I thought that it was so simple before, but now this just messes my brain all up.
This cupcake is really so so good.

It's now causing a rift between my feelings for the Strawberry/Banana.

I don't know if I can choose.
It's like telling your children that one of them is your favorite.
That's just heartless.
I don't think I can do it.

It's a good thing that I'm a woman, because my crazy witch-self has many moods.
I think I can handle them all.
Just depends on the day.

Those of you who haven't tried them don't need to spout off about how you 'don't do peanut butter' or you 'just don't think banana sounds that great', or whatever...
Truth is, you just don't know any better.

Watch out - they'll get you, too.

Open for Business ;)

Yeah, Spring Break is over & I'm back,

but it's been so busy that I haven't been able to post.

I know you missed me.

I missed you, too.

It's Personal has moved in to the shop, & I'm loving it so much.

They're my kind of girls.

Sometimes we work like crazy

& don't even talk for a long time 'cause we're all so busy.

I like it.

Sometimes we talk a lot.

I like that, too.

If you haven't been in yet to greet them, come in & say 'Hi'.

I've been really busy.

I try to post on FaceBook every day

for the kinds of cupcakes & treats I have for the day.

Sometimes I'm too busy to post.

I put everything out on the big table in the middle of the shop when it's all ready.

Sometimes people come in & buy all the cupcakes.

Then I don't have anymore for the day.

I like it when that happens.

If you come in to the shop & there are no cupcakes on the table,

that means that there are probably no more cupcakes for the day.

If you call me & I still have some,

I'll put them in a box for you with your name on it.

Spring Break ;)

Spring Break is here & I'm taking some time off.
I think.
No more walk-in service or orders until next Thursday.
That's when I'll reopen.
If you call the shop & I don't answer or call you back, I'm telling you now -
I will not be there.
I love my friends & customers & I love making cupcakes for you,
but I'm taking off for a few days.
I really am.
Seriously.
Even if you call my cell or text me, I'm not crackin' an egg till next week.
I'm not even gonna buy any powdered sugar till next Wednesday.
This is going to be a good thing.
It's going to refresh my creativity for the SpringTime ;)
Then I'll be back to work.
So you can call me next week (Thursday) if you want something.
But if you're a friend of mine & we talk sometimes, you can still call me to talk.
But don't call me to talk, & then we talk, & then you try to place an order.
I ain't doin' that till next Thursday.
I'm telling you, seriously - I'm not turning that oven on.
If I decide to, I'll make an announcement to the world.
But I'm not.
I still love you, but I'm not baking for you till next week.

& to top it all off ~ Sell Your Old Gold & Silver Jewelry Party. Baby.

We've already had a Sell-Your-Old-Jewelry Party.
It was amazing.
Jennifer got $1100 for 2 pieces of jewelry.
& Stacie got almost $900.
Yeah, she's bringing in some more for this one.
I'm telling you, it's not all good stuff.
Broken bracelets, 1 earring, ugly necklaces, your ex-husband's wedding band.
Your old wedding ring from the 1st time around.
Yeah, you don't need that anymore, & someone's gonna give you cash to get rid of it.
Crazy, huh?

I'm telling you, if you don't do anything else tomorrow, you need to get yourself to The Cupcake Shop tomorrow night. We'll be there from 6-9pm.
If you can't come, bring your jewelry bag by the shop & I'll sell it for you.
You can come get your cash on Friday - that's what EJ's doing.
That was easy, huh?

Spring is Almost Here!

In honor of the warmer weather we've been having, I'm about to have a new treat for you at The Cupcake Shop:

Oh, mamacita - I hope they're as good as they sound in my head.
I'm sure that I'll make them available on a very cold day.
We're going to have absolutely beautiful weather until the day of a track meet or baseball game.
Still playing basketball - tournament this Saturday. It's always 70 inside the gym - no rain or wind.
Anyway, I'll be making Brownie Ice Cream Sandwiches this week.
I'll post on FB when they'll be available.

Oh my - it has been crazy getting ready for this day, but thank goodness it's almost here (& done)!
Our schedule is full thru Monday.
I'll still take orders for Classroom Cupcakes thru Sunday afternoon.
I do believe that I'll be closed on Wednesday to recover from the weekend.

Winter Weather Blast & The Flu :(

Well, the weather's a'comin & you know what that means - get to WalMart as quickly as you can! The aisles will be full of people & the shelves will be empty because we just might get iced in for at least one day. You have to be prepared ya know ;)

Max is getting sick - he's had fever this weekend. I'm so hoping it's not the flu, but with all that is going around it probably is. Which means that he can't go to 'school'. & Allie has a game tomorrow in Wichita Falls, which I'll probably have to miss. That puts me in a bad mood. Worse now, because I had to miss seeing Lane play yesterday. Man, I hope he gets better tonight.

Because of the impending weather & Max, I may be closed on Tuesday &/or Wednesday. I don't have any orders yet for those days anyway, but I'll be posting on FaceBook to let you know what's going on at the shop. During that time, if I get to stay home, I'll be taking a nap. I love naps. Long ones, like 2 to 3 hours worth. Anyway, if you need me, don't call the shop - I might not be there. You can text me at (940)393-8718, or send me a message on FaceBook.

The New Year is upon us at the end of this week - ready or not, it's coming! To make the transition a little easier, we'll have some pure deliciousness to help you on your way.
Lots of Cake Pops this week - an incredible little sweet wrapped in chocolate & love. These will be a great treat for your holiday party!
The highlight of the evening will be beautiful Champagne Cupcakes to celebrate the incoming New Year! A delicious pink strawberry cupcake with pretty pink pale champagne buttercream icing - I can't even tell you how good these will be. But they will be. Good. Very Good.
I'll have some of these all week, but you'd better put your order in early if you're going to want these for Friday night because the schedule will fill up quickly.

Merry Christmas!

So glad it's Monday, but just in case you didn't realize it, Christmas is at the end of this week! Haven't gotten everything done yet - still have some shopping to do so I'm taking care of that today (hopefully!). Because last week was so crazy & because this week will be, too, I'm posting my crazy hours on Facebook daily so that you'll know when I won't be here. Here's a run-down of how it's going to be:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Open 10am - 5:30pm
Wednesday: Open 7am - 12pm.
Closed for the Holidays.
Will open again on Monday the 27th.

So sorry for the inconvenience! I'll be taking my kids to my parents' house for Christmas on Wednesday afternoon and am so excited! We've been very busy & I don't get out of the shop much, which means that sometimes I don't see my kids as much as I'd like. I am taking off for a few days & will return refreshed & ready to go! We'll have some changes at the cupcake shop when the New Year arrives - I'll catch you up on that later.

Daniel at Ink'N'Stitch

This is Daniel, & he's a Rock Star. To me, that is (& I think to Estela, too).
He's the one who made my windows look so awesome.
He works next door at the famous Ink'N'Stitch shop.
With Colby & Jason.
Actually, it was Colby who laid out the plan for the letters on the windows of my shop.
& then it was Jason who designed the look on the computer.
Very good job, guys!
But it was Daniel, the Rock Star, who came over & put everything together to make them look awesome (like I knew they would).
We already had a big customer base when we moved into the shop, but when we put the lettering on the windows it started to get crazy-busy because it really caught everyone's attention.
My windows look awesome. I know. I love them ;)
So thank you, Ink'N'Stitch, for helping our business grow so quickly!
You really should call Colby & let him help you with your windows, too. Or signs (that's what's next for us). 940-683-2314

Changes On The Way ;)

Changes are on the way! (I'm quite sure that we'll be saying this for some time!)
We'll be having early morning coffee - 7am, I believe. Sometimes earlier, but we'll say 7 just to be on the safe side.
The shop hours will be changing, as well. We're learning as we go, so this may happen more than once.
Tuesday - Friday: 7am - 5:30pm
Saturday: 9 - 12 Pre-orders only
We are currently closed on Mondays. I like to think of it as a 'day off', but so far that hasn't been the case.
We've been so busy with orders that it's been difficult on certain days to get cupcakes out on the counter to sell. We're trying our hardest - if you come in & we don't have anything out yet, let us know what you'd like & we'll try to get it for you asap!

Sweetness + Shopping + Friends=Amazing Thursday Night!

Hello Ladies(and guys)!! Don't forget to come on downtown this afternoon from 6pm to 8pm for some amazing specials! We will have plenty of Cupcakes, Cakepops, Chocolate Covered Popcorn, & Chocolate Covered Pretzels!! Stitches & Bling have some amazing "He Hunts, I shop" t's and a bunch of other product and Summer will be here with her order book and ready to take orders! There are also some super cute girls clothes and bows here!! So if you have that adorable little girl or know one you should really come on in and check them out! Ink & Stitch next door will have the Rangers game going and some very nice "refreshments" :) Can't have Girls Night Out (& the Rangers game) without some "refreshments"!!! I am also hearing, across the street they will be having s'mores! It is going to be an amazing night and we hope to see EVERYONE here!!!!

Girls Night Out--He Hunts, I shop (Post 2)

So just in case you are not aware GNO is tomorrow night from 6pm tp 8pm and we are looking forward to it insanely!!! We will have a wide variety of Cupcakes, Cake Pops, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Pop Corn and Barry will have the smoker in front of the shop for amazing ball game food! Ink & Stitch will have Cold Beer and the Rangers game going! As well as a really great sale going on!! But you gotta come out tomorrow night to see just what kind of great sales we are talking about! Why would someone want to pass up the chance for shopping, food, deserts, Cold Beer and the Rangers game!!!

We have really done a lot to the cupcakes shop and would love for everyone to come and see it and enjoy and amazing desert!! We really hope to see you there!!!!

Girls Night Out--He Hunts, I shop!

So, as everyone can tell, we are very, very, very excited about Girls' Night Out and we hope that everyone else is, too!
Girls' Night Out will be on October 28th from 6pm to 9pm!! We will have cupcakes out that night for all the ladies to come splurge on and really enjoy!! We really look forward to seeing all of our regulars, and, of course, are so excited to meet all of the newcomers! We hope that everyone comes down to visit with us and have a great time!!
Stitches & Bling has made special shirts that will be available to purchase at the Cupcake Shop. We will all have our extra special 'He Hunts, I Shop' shirts on and look forward to everyone else having theirs on, as well!!

Estela's Rockin' Cakepops

Estela is the cake-popper, & today she out-did herself. She made pumpkin cakepops dipped in white chocolate, & I couldn't love her any more than I did when I took that first bite. Except for when I took the second bite.
I thought that she was going to throw something at my head after about the 20th time I stated that they were 'so stinkin' good'. I thought that was definitely a compliment...
We ran out this afternoon & I think I cried a little.
She is making more tomorrow.
I mean 'Please make more tomorrow, Estela'.
Come get you some - they'll be ready around lunchtime ;)

Well as soon as I walked into the shop this morning Elesha was indulging herself with one the amazing Pumpkin Cake Pops that Estella made. I was told that I "Had" to try one, I could only let them twist my arm so far until I finally broke down and tried one. And let me tell you something! They are So Stinkin Good!! They are to die for! Absolutely amazing! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them, and I sure hope that yours is too. Come in and try some and tell us if you think they are just "So Stinkin Good"!!

Good Afternoon fellow bloggers and followers!!

We are going to start keeping everyone updated on what is going on here at the cupcake shop!! We have pretty interesting times here and cant wait to share them with everyone!! We make cupcakes on a daily basis and will always have some out for people to walk in and buy! We do special orders as well as delivery!! If you are ever in the neighborhood come by and visit with us, we love to meet cupcake lovers!!
